Wyreside Lakes Fisheries is situated on the Duchy of Lancaster’s Wyreside Estate.
A variety of way marked paths through the Fishery connect the lakes and there are many attractive walks in the surrounding countryside. They have a mixture of carp, pike and coarse fishing offering a variety of species and size which will provide a challenge to both the professional and novice angler.
WYRE LAKE (CARP / PIKE) Is a 16 acre lake with a head of 120 carp and 19 swims. the lake has plenty of features with an island and depths from 2 to 13 feet. Wyre lake is One of the premier carp waters in the North West with the current record weight standing at 40 lbs 4 oz. The lake is available to season ticket holders and day and night permits can be purchased during the week on a minimum of 48hrs from Monday to Friday only.
Bantons Lake is a 12 acre lake with a head of 200 carp and 19 swims. The lake has very clear water and as a result is prone to high levels of weed from the spring onwards and holds Carp to 36lb.
River Lake is a 2.3 acre lake with 160 carp and 11 swims. The lakes has plenty of features including a sunken island. This lake holds carp to 30lb and has a number of swims with car access.
Sunnyside 1 hold carp and pike with around 170 carp and is 4.6 acres with 11 swims. The lake has gravel and slit beds and depths from 3 to 9 feet. The record on this lake is a fish called The Captain at 29lb
Sunnyside 2 is 11 acres and holds 200 carp and has 20 swims. Originally a trout water that has always homed carp a further 100 carp were introduced in Oct 2004 and a further 60 in November 2015. The top weights in this water go to 29lb. Sunnyside 2 has plenty of features and depths between 5 and 8 feet.
